Shad offers a suite of immersive programs designed to ignite curiosity, build confidence, and prepare students in grades 10 and 11 to thrive in a fast-changing world.
You are welcome to apply for one or all programs that you are interested in.

Please choose 2 of your life experiences, interests, passions or accomplishments which have helped you grow your initiative, leadership skills and character. This is your space to tell us more about you.

This section asks you to reflect on 4 experiences and share your thoughts or personal reflections on each. The minimum word count is 100 words per reflection and the maximum word count is 250 words. Be clear, concise and authentic when writing your responses.
Tell us about a specific moment when you realized your actions made a meaningful difference for someone else or a community. What happened, and how did that moment influence how you support others?
Tell us about a challenge, setback, or failure you experienced. How did you respond, and what did you learn about yourself from the experience?
Tell us about something you were curious about. What steps did you take to learn more, and what surprised you or changed your thinking along the way?
Every day we come across problems begging for a solution. Think about a time when you, or a community you are a part of, recognized a problem. Tell us about what steps you took to address the problem. What was the problem and why did you feel it was important to address, & What steps did you take to solve the problem and what did you learn from this experience?
Applicants are required to submit the name and email address for a Reference. Once submitted, that Reference contact receives an email from Shad Canada which includes a link to an online reference form. The Reference completes and submits directly to Shad Canada. References are confidential.
Bursaries are financial gifts that do not need to be paid back thanks to the generosity of Shad’s donors. Applicants can apply for a bursary by providing an email address of their parent/guardian. An email will be sent to the parent address with details on how to apply. All details are confidential and shared via Shad’s online form.
Shad offers scholarships for applicants in association with community partners and for students that have been traditionally underrepresented in STEAM programming. All scholarships are listed on our website, and applicants must submit an extra essay question to be considered for a scholarship. The essay question is available on the application.
All applications must be submitted no later than end of day Wednesday, January 6, 2027.
