Every Shad campus has a rigorous schedule filled with post-secondary academics, team building activities, field trips, STEAM experts and design challenges. The Shad fee is all inclusive, which means it includes meals and snacks, access to post-secondary rooms and centres, excursions, dorm fees and a team full of leaders, mentors and coaches. More details on our live-in and digital fee inclusions are listed below.
We believe Shad should be accessible to youth that have the passion, determination and grit to become true changemakers. Thanks to generous donors in the private, public and philanthropic sectors we are able to offer a sliding scale fee.
Thanks to generous donors, the maximum fee to attend the live-in Shad program is $7,260 (which is a subsidized amount below the $9,970 cost to Shad to run the program). Donor support also allows Shad to offer further fee reductions through bursaries and scholarships which may lower (or eliminate) the fee for families with financial need. Participants are encouraged to apply for financial support via the application to further lower their fee.
Shad offers bursaries and scholarships to support families with financial need. Many participants also fundraise to cover program fees, like Benjamin Dunkley who shares his tips on fundraising.
This portion of the Shad costs have been covered by the generosity of Shad’s donors.
