February 28, 2019 – Timmins Today Every summer, 1,000 students from across Canada spend 27-days at a Canadian university and engage in lectures, workshops, labs and hands-on learning. Shad is a premier live-in summer STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Mathematics) and entrepreneurship program.

Four Manitoba students earn Loran scholarships. Four Manitoba students have just been selected as Loran Scholars – among 35 recipients of Canada’s most comprehensive undergraduate scholarship for character, service and leadership, it was announced Friday.

Exceptional high school students from Victoria County are encouraged to participate in the Shad program, and once they graduate, to attend UNB as undergraduate students.
