Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC)

ACTION: To prepare for your VSC, add onlineorders@sterlingbackcheck.com to your safe senders list.

As per your contract with Shad Canada, you must complete a vulnerable sector criminal record check. If Shad Canada has a VSC from you in the previous three years, no action is required; Shad Canada will use your previous VSC.

If you have never been a contractor with Shad Canada or your VSC with Shad Canada is from more than three years ago, you will receive an email from Sterling Backcheck (onlineorders@sterlingbackcheck.com) in May or June to complete your VSC.

As the VSC must be completed within 7 days of receiving the email, please complete the application as soon as possible. If you have any problems with identity verification, please email hiring@shad.ca and we will help you.

If you have a current VSC (for example, from your local police station or RCMP branch), please email hiring@shad.ca and attach a copy of your VSC for consideration.
