My name is Gabrielle Iurmhekha, and I am a Grade 11 student at King’s Christian Collegiate in Oakville, Ontario. I am someone who is naturally curious and enjoys exploring questions that do not have simple answers. Whether I am volunteering in my community, conducting research for a science project, or taking on a leadership role, I enjoy learning from new experiences and finding ways to contribute to those around me. My friends and family would describe me as determined, hardworking, and someone who is always eager to grow.

Pourquoi avez-vous hâte de participer à Shad ? Qu'attendez-vous le plus avec impatience ?

I see SHAD as an opportunity to challenge myself in an environment filled with curious and motivated students. Some of my most meaningful learning experiences have come from working alongside people who approach problems differently than I do, and I am excited to be part of a community that values creativity, innovation, and collaboration. I am especially looking forward to meeting students from across Canada, exploring new ideas in science and technology, and gaining perspectives that will broaden the way I think about the world.

Qu'est-ce qui éveille votre curiosité ou votre intérêt pour le STIAM et/ou l'entrepreneuriat ?

For me, STEAM answers questions that emerge when I look beyond how something works and begin asking why it works that way. Through research projects, science fairs, and classroom learning, I have discovered that even simple questions can lead to complex and fascinating investigations. I enjoy the process of exploring ideas, testing possibilities, and learning from unexpected results. What excites me most about STEAM is that it combines creativity with problem-solving and allows people to develop solutions that can improve lives and address real-world challenges.

Comment envisagez-vous votre avenir ?

I hope to pursue a career in chemical engineering while continuing to serve my community in meaningful ways. I am drawn to fields where science can be applied to solve practical problems, improve existing systems, and create solutions that benefit others. Beyond a career, I hope to continue learning, growing, and contributing to the people and communities around me. I envision a future where I can use my knowledge, curiosity, and leadership skills to make a positive impact through innovation, and service.
