Q: Tell us a bit about yourself.

I am 16 years old and a grade 11 student at Lakefield College School. I love interacting with people because I learn a lot that way. I love playing soccer and basketball and hanging out with my friends. I am very interested in law and business/entrepreneurship. My goal is to explore and get a good understanding of different paths so I can make an informed decision about what I want to do with my life. I also aim to connect with as many people I can to learn from them and be well-rounded.

Q: Why do you want to participate in the Shad program/ What are you most looking forward to?

I want to participate in the Shad program because aside from learning interesting things, I want to surround myself with people I can learn from and be the best version of myself. Shad will open the door for me to learn a lot more about entrepreneurship and technology. I want to build skills that will help me in the future. I am looking forward to meeting students, and guest speakers and doing entrepreneurial and technology projects. I look forward to building friendships.

Q: What motivates or sparks your curiosity in STEAM and/or entrepreneurship?

What motivated me to explore and get involved in STEAM and entrepreneurship is seeing how much impact people can have through STEAM fields. I am particularly interested in entrepreneurship because I want to own a business one day, and I believe Shad will be a great point to start that journey of learning more about entrepreneurship. I am excited and curious to explore my academic strengths, and I want to learn more and gain experience so I can truly find something that I will use to make an impact in my community.

Q: How do you envision your future?

After high school, I plan to go to university and earn my bachelor’s degree in business and/or law-related fields. As I said, I want to start my own business and create a foundation that will help new entrepreneurs, particularly new Canadians in starting businesses.  I also envision being part of technological advancements, contributing to innovations that improve efficiency, creativity, and well-being. My goal is to continue being a helpful and reliable resource for anyone who seeks knowledge or assistance.
