Q : Parlez-nous un peu de vous.
My name is Skylar Hook, and I’m a 15-year-old in grade 10. I have a pet bunny that takes up a lot of my time. Some things I enjoy doing are volleyball and reading. Science has always been my best and most interesting subject.
Q : Pourquoi voulez-vous participer au programme Shad ? Qu'attendez-vous le plus ?
The thing I am most looking forward to during Shad would probably be the opportunities to meet new people. Living in a town with a population of around 1000 people makes it hard to meet new people, especially people who share similar ambitions to mine! I am also excited to get an idea of what it’s like living at a university in an unfamiliar area. I think it will be a good way to explore my interests as well.
Q : Qu'est-ce qui motive ou éveille votre curiosité pour les programmes STEAM et/ou l'esprit d'entreprise ?
Living in a small town there also is a lack of opportunities to explore my interests in STEAM. Limited courses make it difficult to try everything I want to. I’ve always had a mind that will take any and all information. I love learning new things in STEAM because there is an endless supply of fun information, and there are also a ton of things to choose from, so you can never get bored!
Q : Comment envisagez-vous votre avenir ?
As of recently, I plan on being a radiologic technologist. Despite my ever-undecided mind, I’ve always envisioned myself with a career in the medical field. I have always been fascinated by travel and plan on going to a university in Europe. When I get my degree, I am interested in living in London, the land of double-decker buses. Once I have saved up enough money, I wish to travel as far and wide as I can possibly manage in my tiny life.
