Q : Parlez-nous un peu de vous.
I’m a 10th-grade student from a rural northern Alberta community who enjoys the outdoors, whether it’s fishing, riding horses, or playing basketball. I am part of the Canadian Pony Club, and I play community and high school league curling and basketball. I also follow hockey closely—I’m a big fan of the Edmonton Oilers. Growing up in the country has taught me the value of hard work, independence, and curiosity – all qualities that I bring to my academic and personal pursuits.
Q : Pourquoi souhaitez-vous participer au programme Shad attendez-vous avec le plus d'impatience ?
I’m excited to attend the Shad program to meet like-minded peers from across Canada and collaborate with individuals who share my passion for learning and innovation. I’m especially looking forward to the hands-on projects and the opportunity to explore new ideas in science, technology, and design. I am looking forward to making new friends and staying connected even after the program.
Q : Qu'est-ce qui motive ou suscite votre curiosité pour les STEAM et/ou l'entrepreneuriat ?
My interest in STEAM started with building LEGO sets and creating imaginative stories around them. I’ve always enjoyed constructing things from scratch and thinking about how small ideas can grow into something bigger. That creativity has evolved into a real curiosity about how technology works and how innovation can solve real-world problems.
Q : Comment envisagez-vous votre avenir ?
I see myself pursuing a career in orthodontics, where I can combine science with a hands-on, people-centered approach. I had the opportunity to shadow someone and really learned about the business side of operating an orthodontic practice. I also dream of traveling the world to learn about different cultures and communities, and maybe even finding ways to give back through my profession.
