Q : Qu'est-ce que cela fait d'être nommé "Schulich Leader" ?

It came as quite a shock when I found out that I had been selected. I had met a few people through the science fair who had been fortunate enough to win this award in the past, but it had always seemed like such an unbelievable accomplishment. The ability to be part of the Schulich network is a real honour, and I’m grateful for the opportunity.

Q : Qu'est-ce qui motive votre passion pour STEAM/Entrepreneuriat ?

I have always had a real passion for STEAM. When I was old enough to do science fair, it was a no-brainer for me to get involved. In all four of the years that I participated, I did innovation projects and it was really easy to see how these projects could be turned into a business. My goal for the future is to become an entrepreneur in the STEAM field.

Q: At Shad we are leaders in social innovation, how do you plan to use #STEAM4Good?

Engineering provides an excellent toolkit for tackling important challenges. In the future, I plan to continue using STEAM and innovation to better the world in any way I can. Fortunately, the Lassonde School of Engineering at York is quite focused on engineering for good, so I’m confident that I’m heading to the right place to make that a reality.

Q : Quelles leçons partageriez-vous avec les nouveaux Shads ?

My biggest tip for incoming Shads would be to try to learn as much as you can from your month-long experience – not just from the amazing guest speakers but also from your peers. Everyone going to Shad is very bright and coming from different places, and being able to share your experiences with one another will allow you to better yourselves as a student and a person.
