Tim Jackson to be awarded honorary doctorate recognizing years of achievement

Tim Jackson (BA’92), FCPA, FCA, a sessional lecturer at Conrad School of Entrepreneurship and Business, will be awarded an honorary doctorate at this year’s spring convocation.  

Since graduating from the University of Waterloo with a Bachelor of Accounting, Jackson has had significant success in the entrepreneurial world. Some of his notable achievements include co-founding Tech Capital Partners, an early-stage venture capital firm that supports local engineers and scientists build successful firms; and his lead role with the Accelerator Centre, an incubator for technology startups.  

Jackson has also been a prominent figure in the Kitchener-Waterloo community for many years, chairing nonprofit organizations like The Food Bank of Waterloo Region and the Waterloo Public Library. 

In the field of accounting, Jackson has reached considerable heights, receiving the Fellowship (FCA) designation issued by The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario in 2009 and later leading CPA Canada’s Competency Map, a task force that works to evaluate and modernize education in Accounting. experience.”…
