Q: Tell us a bit about yourself.

I’m a grade 11 student from Gravenhurst, Ontario. I am a very energetic and passionate person who likes to take risks. My main passions are sports and academics. My love for learning new things boosts both of these interests as there is always something new that I can learn each day!

Q: What motivates your interest in entrepreneurship?

I’m motivated by the potential to turn abstract ideas into real-life solutions. I believe that entrepreneurship is a great way to make a difference in the world.  Shads very own Design Project also sparked my interest in entrepreneurship, as it simulated creating a startup.  I was able to see the different parts of creating a business which included the many problems that we faced.

Q: What was the biggest takeaway from your Shad experience?

My biggest takeaway from my Shad experience was to “trust the process”!  Going into everything blind helped boost my self-confidence and push me out of my comfort zone into my stretch zone.

Q: How do you plan to use #STEAM4Good?

I plan to use #STEAM4Good by using my skills and knowledge to help solve real-world problems and make a positive impact in my community.  I also plan to create my own non-profit in which I will use the skills that I have learned from Shad to benefit others.

Q:  What lessons would you share with incoming Shads?

They probably will hear this  a million times, but to trust the process! There will be times that you think Shad is not for you, but just keep chugging away and the end result will be beneficial.
