Q: Tell us a bit about yourself.

My name is Noah Cappelle, and I’m a high schooler from a city of 5000 people in Northern Saskatchewan. I have a deep passion for general self-improvement and mastery, which primarily comes through in a love of learning and wrestling. Specifically, I love learning all things STEAM, as well as History, Theology, Linguistics, Business, and Finance. I also very much enjoy camping, which is typically how I spend most of my summer.

Q: What was your biggest takeaway from your Shad experience?

My biggest takeaway from Shad is simply the number of opportunities available if you just look for them. Coming from a smallish city, I do not have many options close by, but I discovered at Shad that I can start my own initiative or do something online if I choose. It was also just boggling to see how many other programs existed that I didn’t know about but want to try, such as Olympiads, Self-Studying classes, paid internships, and even dual degree programs.

Q: At Shad we are leaders in social innovation, how do you plan to use #STEAM4Good?

I’m not sure of the details yet, but I’d love to do plenty of volunteering, as well as contributing to open-source projects. At some point in the future, I’d like to go down the path of creating a startup or a non-profit.

Q: What lessons would you share with incoming Shads?

Just enjoy it, and make sure to keep an eye out for all the opportunities and networking possibilities. Also, make lots of lasting connections.
