Entrance Scholarship for Students from Métis Nation of Saskatchewan – Keston Mckay

Q: Tell us a bit about yourself.

I’m a guy who likes robotics, browsing the internet and I have recently been getting into making cosplays!

Q: Why do you want to participate in the Shad program/What are you most looking forward to?

I’ve always been a little nervous about getting into engineering due to how broad it is. So, I believe Shad will help me get some hands-on experience with better understanding engineering. I’m looking forward to exploring the different kinds of engineering disciplines.

Q: What motivates or sparks your curiosity in STEAM and/or entrepreneurship?

It’s the practicality for me. If a problem arises and we don’t see a solution being offered, we can go out and solve it for ourselves, which could help others who were also waiting for a solution.

Q: How do you envision your future?

I like to think I’ll be at the University of Saskatchewan getting my engineering degree surrounded by some silly little trinkets I 3D printed or something. After that I just hope to be a part of some team that goes on to make something great and meaningful.
