Parlez-nous un peu de vous.
Hi! My name is Briar, and I am a Grade 10 student from Calgary, Alberta. I enjoy drawing, debating, playing percussion in my school band, and trying new experiences. I am a very social person and love meeting new people and learning from different perspectives. I am always looking for opportunities to challenge myself, whether that means taking on leadership roles, participating in extracurricular activities, or joining programs that help me grow as a person.
Pourquoi avez-vous hâte de participer à Shad ? Qu'attendez-vous le plus avec impatience ?
I am excited to participate in Shad because it is an opportunity to meet students from across Canada who share similar interests and passions. I am especially grateful to have received the Shad Entrance Scholarship for Métis Nation within Alberta Students through Rupertsland Institute, as it has made this opportunity possible for me. I am looking forward to experiencing university life, working on exciting projects, and learning from people with different backgrounds and ideas. I also want to challenge myself by stepping outside of my comfort zone, trying new things, and making connections that could last long after the program ends.
Qu'est-ce qui éveille votre curiosité ou votre intérêt pour le STIAM et/ou l'entrepreneuriat ?
I enjoy STEAM because it encourages creativity, problem-solving, and innovation. I have always liked subjects that challenge me to think critically and find solutions, especially math. I am also interested in entrepreneurship because it allows people to take ideas and turn them into something real that can help others. I find it fascinating how creativity, business, and technology can work together to solve problems and create opportunities.
Comment envisagez-vous votre avenir ?
Although I am still exploring different career paths, I am interested in areas such as business, accounting, marketing, and entrepreneurship. I hope to continue learning, developing my leadership skills, and taking advantage of new opportunities that help me grow. In the future, I want to have a career that combines creativity, problem-solving, and collaboration while allowing me to make a positive impact on others.
