Q: Tell us a bit about yourself (a few sentences that let others get to know you).
Hello. My name is Gabriel Eyoita, a Grade 10 student from Kitchener, Ontario. I am passionate about understanding human psychology and relationships. This passion stems from observing the personal discipline of athletes and the team dynamics of organized sports, which deliver almost superhuman results and create an exciting game. I love playing basketball and experimenting with different food recipes.
Q: Why do you want to participate in the Shad program/What are you most looking forward to?
I have heard about the lifelong impact of Shad from alumni stories, and I am looking forward to enhancing my leadership skills, taking advantage of the learning opportunities, and building a network of youth who are excited about making a difference. I am looking forward to experiencing campus life and connecting with like-minded youth.
Q: What motivates or sparks your curiosity in STEAM and/or entrepreneurship?
I am curious about Human Psychology, and I want to develop a career in the mental health field. I believe that the human mind is a blend of reactions that are influenced by science and its interpretation of experiences. I understand that entrepreneurship includes creativity and innovation. I would like to explore how to develop an innovative careerthat helps people and is financially rewarding.
Q: How do you envision your future?
I envision a future where I can contribute meaningfully to my society while living successfully as a family man, mentoring youth to discover their purpose and potential.
