Celebrating the Shad alum named 2024 Schulich Leaders – Nami Dwyer
Q: How does it feel to be named a Schulich Leader?
I feel very privileged to have been provided this opportunity to become a part of the Schulich community. I am now more motivated than ever to pursue my dreams and make the most of my education. This opportunity will also provide me with a wealth of resources to continue to build my passion in STEM and entrepreneurship. I truly believe that this success is the result of not only my own initiative but also the support I have received from various communities and individuals.
Q: What motivates your passion for STEAM/Entrepreneurship?
From early on in high school, I have been fascinated by science’s power in solving global issues. Through many hands-on activities in high school, I have had the opportunity to truly confront the power of STEM and entrepreneurship, which has resulted in my love for STEM to deepen further. The power science can have in making a difference in the world is what motivates me to take action on both a local and global scale.
Q: At Shad we are leaders in social innovation, how do you plan to use #STEAM4Good?
The key to social innovation is collaboration with others. I truly value the STEM communities I am a part of, including the Shad and Schulich communities. I hope that through these communities and connections that I form, I will become exposed further to the world of STEM and entrepreneurship, where I can make a difference and combat global issues.
Q: What lessons would you share with incoming Shads?
Never be afraid to step outside of your comfort zone and explore the opportunities in the community you are a part of. Life is about discovery and adventure, and I have learned that the moment you step outside of your comfort zone and reach out to the community, you will be provided with countless opportunities. Embrace these opportunities and the people you meet along the way.
