Being the Change: Shad Alums Recognized for their academic excellence and willingness to take the lead to influence positive change

Shad is always excited to celebrate the amazing alums who consistently demonstrate the kind of leadership and commitment to community building that makes our alumni so extraordinary.

Katherine Dibbon, Shad2018, and Luke McCarvill, Shad2019, are two such alums who have been recognized as 2024 Rhodes Scholars for their academic excellence and outstanding social contributions. The Rhodes Scholarship is one of the oldest and most prestigious global scholarships. In October 2024, Katherine and Luke  will head to the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom to study alongside 100 other exceptional youth from around the world. 

From fighting for gender equality to working to secure a more sustainable energy future, Katherine and Luke are taking the lead to help drive the positive change they’d like to see in their communities and across the globe.
