Shad 2027 applications are open to high school students currently completing Grade 10 and 11 (Secondaire IV and V in Quebec).
We’re looking for applicants who are curious, creative, community-minded and ready to make an impact.
Choose how you want to experience Shad: join our Live-in program on a post-secondary campus or connect with students across Canada through our Virtual program. Looking for a specialized live-in experience? Explore our A-Plus, En Français or Unplugged options to find the right fit for you.

Application tips
Start early. Give yourself time to think—and submit before the deadline rush.
Tell us what interests you, what matters to you, and what you’ve done. Use your own words and real examples.
Ask your teacher to be your reference early, so they have time to support your application.
Save your progress as you go, especially before taking a break.
Make room for the details that tell your story. Keep an eye on each response’s word limit.
Proofread your answers, check that you’ve completed everything, and remember to submit.
