Tell us a little about yourself.  

My name is Ainsley Fee, I am 16 years old and currently attending St. John Paul II High school, in Grande Prairie Alberta. In my free time, I enjoy playing and learning new instruments. In addition to playing instruments, I also enjoy spending time outdoors, doing things such as baking, biking and reading. I am an adventurous and spontaneous person, which can sometimes lead me to unexpected situations. In the winter, you can find me skiing with the Nitehawk Alpine Ski Team, where I have learned to value dedication, perseverance and friendship.

Why are you excited to participate in Shad? What are you most looking forward to?

I’m excited to participate in Shad because I am interested in widening my knowledge, not only of STEAM, but as well as all the various things Shad has to offer. I am a very social person, so I look forward to meeting people from around the country and forming long-lasting connections. I also admire the camaraderie that comes with experiences like these. I am most looking forward to expanding my understanding of STEAM.

What sparks your curiosity or interest in STEAM and/or entrepreneurship?

I am interested in STEAM because it helps to understand the why and how everyday things happen. Science and math are definitely my favorite subjects in school, though I might favour math, as I do appreciate the concrete answers that accompany it. Currently, technology is not my strongest area, therefore I am interested in broadening my understanding of it. 

How do you envision your future?

In all honesty, I have not thought much about my future, though I do know that I would like to pursue a career where I am able to impact the world in a profound and positive way. Currently, I am keeping my options open, and learning about the various career paths that exist, and I believe that Shad is a great opportunity to do so.
