Tell us a little about yourself.  

Hi, I’m Benji! I consider myself a pretty extroverted person who loves making new friends, volunteering for the community wherever I can and connecting with others. I have a huge passion for the arts, especially visual arts, drama, and breakdancing. I also love listening to music and am always up for a great conversation about different artists and genres.

Why are you excited to participate in Shad? What are you most looking forward to?

I am incredibly excited to meet new people and collaborate on fun, dynamic projects. I am really looking forward to working in groups where we can all share our unique thoughts and perspectives to build something cool together. Beyond the projects, I can’t wait for the true on campus experience, playing sports, and getting a taste of university life.

What sparks your curiosity or interest in STEAM and/or entrepreneurship?

I am primarily drawn to the “A” in STEAM, specifically how art naturally intersects with math and science. I find it fascinating how creating diagrams and layouts ties directly into architecture and engineering. I love the idea of combining the creativity of art with the technical side of science to build large-scale, real-life projects.

How do you envision your future?

I envision a future where I have a career I genuinely enjoy, likely in a field like architecture, engineering, interior design, or stage design. I love the challenge of combining geometry, trigonometry, and science with creative design. I especially like architecture because I love sketching buildings and drawing out their layouts. I also love how it can tie into stage design as it would be the ultimate way to bring architecture and my passion for drama together!
