When Shad Alums Charlotte Bolduc, Joti Gokaraju, Rocky Sloan, and Shravya Verma heard they had been named Loran Scholars, they felt an enormous sense of accomplishment at having been recognized for the positive impact they were having in their communities.
The scholarship provides these future leaders with a $100,000 investment in their undergraduate education and access to mentorship from one of Canada’s notable leaders. These Shad alums join the community of Loran Scholars who have been recognized for their leadership, character, and service to others and their communities. A total of 120 Shad alumni have earned this honour.
We were able to connect with these outstanding youths to learn how receiving this scholarship will help them continue to have a positive impact. Charlotte hopes to continue empowering Indigenous youth across Canada. Joti plans to pursue Quantum Computing and use technology to advance human progress. Rocky dreams of working in medicine and helping to keep Canadians healthy. Verma is studying engineering so that she can create meaningful community impact in areas that matter, like sustainable infrastructure.
