We are hands-on.

Carleton is proud to have forged strong connections with a range of organizations to provide research, work placement and networking opportunities for students. You can participate in community service learning with local and international partners, gain work experience through co-op, internship and practicum placements, conduct research alongside award-winning professors, and more.

We have a global perspective.

We all want to make the world a better place— but how? We believe that global prosperity can be achieved by building sustainable communities and that the link between the global and the local is at the heart of what we do. Carleton is known as a Canadian university of choice for international students and for encouraging all students to think globally. On campus, you’ll study with student peers from over 150 different countries. Given that the education of global citizens requires exposure to international experiences, we also offer many opportunities for students to study abroad.

The Shad Carleton experience will utilize the best of this campus and Ottawa and a staff with sincere interest in providing a transformative experience to the Shads of 2024. Carleton University is close to Canada’s majestic Parliament Buildings, the bustling Byward Market and the beautiful Gatineau Park which we can’t wait to share with you.

Carleton University respectfully acknowledges that the land on which we gather is the traditional, unceded territory of the Anishinaabe Algonquin People.
