SHAD Fellows planning to attend university have an exciting opportunity. A number of post-secondary institutions provide scholarships specifically for SHAD Fellows. Take a look below for highlights of the scholarship programs offered, and further details are available from the participating universities.
For instructions on how to apply to a specific SHAD Fellow scholarship at any of the universities below, please visit their websites or contact their scholarship and bursary office directly for help. SHAD does not administer these scholarships.

Two scholarships valued at $20,000 over 4 years will be awarded to outstanding students who have participated in the SHAD program and are entering the first year of any undergraduate program at Carleton University.
An application is required and the applicant's demonstrated leadership roles within their community or secondary school activities will also be considered.
Dalhousie has offered two $16,000 scholarships each year to SHAD alumni since 2007. The renewable scholarships goes to students with strong academic promise who have participated in the SHAD program. Click here for more information.
Faculty of Engineering
Five scholarships, valued at $1,000 each, are available to outstanding SHAD alumni who are entering first year of an undergraduate degree program in the Faculty of Engineering, directly from high school. Selection will be based on academic achievement (minimum admission average of 88% required). These scholarships are in addition to any other scholarships the student may receive from the Faculty of Engineering or McMaster University.

Three renewable scholarships are available to high school students who are current or previous participants in the SHAD program. These scholarships are valued at a total of $12,000 ($3,000 per year, renewable for an additional 3 years for a total of 4 years). To be eligible and to be considered for renewal, students must be enrolled in full time studies and have scholarship standing as defined by Memorial University. The deadline to apply is July 4, 2017. SHAD Admission Scholarship
Established in February 2014 by Queen's University and awarded on the basis of academic excellence to students entering the first year of the Bachelor of Computer Honours degree program in the School of Computing. For more information, please visit the Queen's Student Awards site.
Scholarships valued at up to $10,000 each are available to students with Canadian or Permanent Resident status entering the first year of the Bachelor of Commerce Program at the Sauder School of Business. To be considered, candidates must have completed the SHAD program. When applying to the Sauder School of Business, please identify yourself as a SHAD alumna/alumnus.
The awards are based primarily on the student’s scholarly achievement. Subject to continued scholarship standing, the scholarships will be renewed for a further three years of study or until the first undergraduate degree is obtained (whichever is the shorter period). Awards are made on the recommendation of the Sauder School of Business.
Application for scholarship available between September 1 and March 31 annually.
Awarded since 2005, the SHAD Gordon M. Shrum scholarships recognize high academic standing, community service, and outstanding achievement and participation in the SHAD program. Between three and five $24,000 scholarships will be awarded each year.

Two scholarships, valued at $2,500 each, are awarded to outstanding students who have participated in the SHAD program, and are entering first-year of any undergraduate degree program directly from high school. The award is based on both academic excellence and extracurricular achievement as assessed through the UNB General Scholarship application form. Students are welcome to apply and are considered for the UNB Recognition Scholarship-SHAD through the general scholarship application process. Fill out the application form attached to the admission form, and indicate your participation in SHAD.
The University of Saskatchewan will waive their $90 application fee for all SHAD alum. In addition, SHADs will be automatically considered for a Guaranteed Entrance Scholarship, which are awarded based on academics and are valued up to $3,000 for an applicant with a 95%+ admission average.
SHADs are strongly encouraged to apply for the Best and Brightest Entrance Scholarships, valued up to $24,000, and/or the Competitive Entrance Awards, valued between $500-$24,000. The deadline to be considered for early admission to apply to some scholarships is December 1. For more information click here or contact Stephanie Parker.
The University of Waterloo offers up to $31,000 annually in entrance scholarship awards to alumni of the SHAD program who enroll at the University of Waterloo. These scholarships are awarded on a competitive basis.
Applied Health Sciences: 2 at $1,000 available
Arts: 2 at $1,000 available
Engineering: 2 at $4,000 available
Environment: 4 at $1,000 available
Mathematics: 1 at $5,000 or 2 at $2,500 available
Science: 5 at $1,000 available
