Wendy, an enthusiastic recruiter for Shad Canada, is eager to spread awareness of the program to high school students. Wendy has previous experience working as a ShadAnywhere facilitator. With a strong background in people and stakeholder engagement, she is particularly drawn to Shad’s unique ability to cultivate a strong sense of community and foster creativity among its participants. She is inspired by how the program empowers high school students to explore their passions and develop skills that will serve them throughout their lives.

Wendy’s extensive experience including her work as a Resident Coordinator and Program Facilitator has honed her skills in creating supportive environments and delivering impactful programs, aligning perfectly with Shad’s community-driven approach.

Currently working with the government of Newfoundland and Labrador. She holds a Master’s degree in Political Science from Memorial University of Newfoundland and a Bachelor’s degree in International Studies with a focus on International Relations from City College of New York. Wendy’s academic and professional background equips her with the expertise to effectively promote and support Shad’s mission.

This past summer, Wendy volunteered with The Atlantic Council for International Cooperation at the Global Citizenship Youth Conference 2024, engaging with youth aged 15-17 to foster global awareness and active citizenship. When she’s not working or volunteering, Wendy enjoys travelling to new countries, trying new restaurants with friends, reading and hiking around St. John’s.
