Over the last couple weeks I have had the absolute pleasure of working at IGENO, a great company in Vancouver which is working very hard to create a fantastic analytics platform for companies, while revolutionizing the way you share this information. At their core, they believe “No one should ever have to share an Excel spreadsheet ever again”. Their platform aims to create an analytics dashboard to simplify company data, and make it easily presentable.
I spent my first week working with Hyeunjoon (HJ) a really fantastic employee at IGENO. He is an amazing programmer, and a big inspiration to myself. He got me setup witth their project, and explained the concepts behind MongoDB. My project was to create a blogging platform from scratch using Ruby on Rails and MongoDB. I've been learning Rails for the past year, but I've never tried MongoDB before. I also worked on integrating the blog with Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn API in order to post automatically to these platforms when a new post was made.
The second week I met Mark, the CEO of IGENO. He is an absolutely amazing guy, quite funny, and an absolute pleasure to work with.
As I finished off the blog, adding masonry layout, and infinite scrolling, Mark suggested a new project for me to start working on. Adding a Social Media Dashboard. After integrating the blog, and pushing it up to production, I worked with Mark on conceptualizing this Dashboard with their current setup. I then began looking at the Youtube, and Facebook API's once again, in order to integrate these into the Dashboard.
I've had an absolutely amazing couple weeks at IGENO. I am extremely grateful to SHAD for providing me this opportunity to work at a fantastic company like IGENO. The amount I have learned in the past couple of weeks has been phenomenal.
