SHAD Calgary’s fifth day began with an enjoyable form of creating confusion… in other words: a riddle. Once the SHADs had solved the mystery of the object with many keys but only 3 locks (try it!) and gorged themselves during breakfast, they proceeded to the three lectures of the day, which covered topics like business idea generation, leadership and nanotechnology.
The time periods between them were filled with SHADspeaks and body breaks (A body break can range from basic dancing to stretching; for today, however, we took a group photo!!)
The lunch period turned into time to explore the campus as the SHADs had the opportunity to eat at the Student Union food court. The day included a recreation hour in the afternoon, when the SHADs enjoyed squash, yoga and rock climbing. In fact, they enjoyed rock climbing so much, they fell in love with it. (No pun intended?!) This was followed by dinner and project time for the houses to work on the SHAD project idea.
Over the four full days of SHAD Calgary so far, the SHADs and the staff have developed a closely-knit community, and are excited to see what the rest of the month brings.
