Even after four days into the SHAD experience, it still excites me to wake up in the morning and analyze the schedule. There is always something new happening each day, which can be both informative and inspiring!
In the morning there are many running groups, as early as 6:15 to go for a jog around campus. While I generally enjoy the comfort of my bed, I attempted to do my own exercise in the morning for a change. It was really effective at waking me up and keeping me energized throughout the day. After a delicious breakfast of eggs, sausages, and pancakes, we had a leadership workshop about team values and goals. The presenter gave a very empowering speech that introduced a new perspective on team building and reaching for a goal.
After lunch, the theme for this year’s project was revealed to us. The founder of a start-up known as Solarpanda came to deliver the theme as well as introduce us to his project in supporting the billions of people around the world who do not have access to electricity. With the conclusion of the evening, everyone got into their separate project groups and began planning possible ideas.
All in all, it was a memorable day and I look forward to the weeks to come!
