Canadian Centre for the Responsibility to Protect - Clara Filipetti
I am working as an intern for the CCR2P (Canadian Centre for the Responsibility to Protect) as a part of one of the infographic teams. Together with my teammates, we create different infographics to raise awareness about the responsibility to protect framework. We have finished two infographics, one on the 2005 World Summit Document and one on R2P in Sri Lanka during the civil war.
Today I started to gather research on our next topic, the UN Special Advisor on R2P. I find it really useful and important to narrow down any research that I find so that when I begin to make the infographic, I do not need to refer to it then. I also try to go through any news that pertains to the R2P, to keep the work that we are doing meaningful and relevant. Today, I was struck by the image of a young Syrian boy who had just been rescued from an airstrike, and was reminded of the impact that the global community can have in ensuring the safety of people who are affected by war and other atrocities.
