After only 19 days together with 59 other strangers, I feel like I have entered a program where I have known and been best friends with every single person my whole life. The first few days were exhausting for me just trying to get into a new groove, but after getting into routine, I was good. Here at SHAD, the PAs really care about your health as well as everything else, so if you're tired or sick they are very understanding and flexible with what is best for you and will accommodate what ever needs are required. What I'm saying might sound cliché, but it is so true. I have met now some of my best friends here at SHAD and I couldn't imagine not being with them and not having the relationships I do with them all. This blog post is to talk about things we do at Shad, so that's what i’ll do. First though to get to the important things, like food! The food at Carleton is amazing! Like i don't know how i'll go back to normal servings of food… now back on track.
Today our morning was in the lecture room and my house got to handle SHAD News. Go BluCru!! I got to talk about what we did yesterday, which was dragonboat racing and SHADs beach day, and I also had the slide that was national junk food day!
After dinner, it was back to the DE grind. Today at 4:30pm was the due date for our business and financial plan, so it was an effective and stressful time. After successfully pulling it off by 4:29pm, we went to rec with “Super Sam” and did a high intensity and short work out.
After supper, we had another lecture by Trevor Deley on the topic of philosophy. Now for the exciting part of our day (other than our meals of course) rec social! Tonight black house hosted rec social and it was movie night! We were all waiting for this day. Fruit and crackers, movie and your bestfriends, sounds pretty good to me! We watched Beauty and the Beast in the theatre here at Carleton. Tomorrow is our second Coffee House and I am performing 2 times in the show, once just playing the guitar and then singing a duet to a Frozen song with Aaron. Wish us luck!
