Today the UNB SHADs got an extra half hour of free time in the morning, which was truly a blessing. While some of us used it to work on our EP’s, others took it as an opportunity to sleep.
Despite a later start time, we still accomplished much today.
In the morning, the SHADs split into two groups with one half of us in a physics lecture while the other half did a robotics lab. Last week it was switched. My group attended the lecture, which focused on Einstein’s Theory of General Relativity. It was nice to hear everyone get excited when the presenter announced the topic.
After lunch, some of us had time to work on our EP, while others went to a Biomedical Engineering Lecture. In addition to this, other SHADs were able to go to UNB’s MakerSpace, which provides access to a 3D printer. After this we all went to a lecture that taught us a very important skill- how to network.
After dinner there were two more lectures, the first was titled “Jobs, Careers, Life Choices…and cricket”. The second allowed us to improve each other’s EP’s by critically analyzing them.
At the end of the day we had a theme night, where one of our PAs led us in song.
Overall it was another busy, memorable day at SHAD, and I truly look forward for more to come.
