Not every morning at SHAD UBC begins with the high pitched buzzing of a fire alarm, but today, the sleeping SHAD-lings were awoken from their slumber in a rather disruptive way. After consuming a delicious breakfast, SHADs were in store for a very exciting morning of staff workshops with their very own PAs. The workshops lasted 3 hours and the content ranged from animal cruelty to identifying berries in wildlife and even birdwatching. After the transition into lunch, we followed up with Dr. Daan Majier on their progress on some USB cases we were 3D printing. Followed by this, some eloquent SHADs presented their SHADSpeaks.
Before dinner, we had a big surprise in store- Sauder night! The Sauder School of Business held their annual SHAD night to help introduce students into the world of business and teach them very valuable networking skills – in practice. Both Sauder alumni and students were there to present regarding their business school and university experiences.
Lastly, we ended off the day by singing ‘happy birthday’ for a beloved SHAD and went to bed with the taste of ice cream cake in our mouths.
