Today we descend into our third week at SHAD. None of us can believe how fast the month is going by, it just feels like yesterday I was lugging my suitcase up the residence stairs.
The day started off with some SHAD Speaks from some of our fellow peers. They ranged from informatics, game theory, the importance of critical analysis, student research of telomeres, to the perfect espresso.
After SHAD speaks, we had a lecture on "eleatics" from our program director, Dr. Sultan Siddiqui. The philosophical 1 1/2 hours spent listening to him definitely had us leaving the lecture hall questioning the meaning of our existence.
After lunch we had two more lectures, the first one done by one of our PA's, Manish, on clinical epidemiology. The next lecture was on nanotechnology.
After our lectures and some free time we had dinner, and after our meal we dove straight into our four designated hours of SHAD Cup time. All of our teams are working away to finalize our product ideas for the fast approaching competition.
