Waking up with the sun. That represents a SHAD Fellow’s daily morning. This morning however had a special touch to it, actually more of a special dance. We had the chance to do some morning recreational Zumba. For once I believe we could truly let ourselves free, free from the constant judgment from our peers back at home and free to let our wild nature out. After that rather goofy workout, we all headed towards Marquis Hall where a beautiful buffet awaited us. Within an hour there wasn’t space for more than a crumb in our newly filled bellies. We were ready to fill our thinking caps.
First stop was a lecture about the evolution on an entrepreneur. We learned a few things here and there on the different techniques evolving through time. It is good to know things but you must be able to communicate your knowledge to others. To help us improve our communication skills we had an hour lecture on oral presentations with dozens of pages on tips and tricks to make you a talented orator. Moving on we had our daily sports time, we ate lunch rapidly and then headed off to different workshops to learn various skills that can and will help us in our main project. Talking about this project, we had the chance to work on it for three hours which allowed us to get ahead. Ending the night off early with curfew being set at 10:30 for various reasons.
