This Monday marks our first week of full days at SHAD. Although it's only been 7 short days, SHAD is already one big family! After a busy start to the month, we all enjoyed a fun and relaxing weekend at the local Baxter conservation area. We did have one project to complete, though. Today, each house presented their representation of life cycles of products used on the camping trip. Before lunch, we had the honour of learning about natural homes by Alan Steele.
In the afternoon, everybody had a chance to learn in their chosen workshops. We had Fiona Wright teaching us about collaborative zines, I had a chance to build my own video game app with Susan Ibach, and some of us even got to learn about electromagnetism, ions and plasmas! A final workshop was offered by Adrian Chan, where SHADs enjoyed an introduction and history of accessibility and inclusive design. Before having house time to work on our monthly DE project, we split into groups to play boardgames and listen to music. To conclude, today was yet another eventful day at SHAD Carleton!
