I didn’t get the vaccine for a religious, or health reason. Can I still attend the program?
Individuals who cannot be fully vaccinated as a result of a medical condition or other grounds protected by the Human Rights Legislation may request an accommodation.
I’m immuno-compromised. Can I still attend the program?
Any individual who is immune compromised should consult with their parents/guardians and/or health professional to ensure participating in the program is in their best interest.
I live outside of Canada. Can I still participate?
Due to COVID-19, Shad Canada will only accept 2022 applications from Canadian citizens and permanent residents residing in Canada on a full-time basis.
I didn’t perform as strongly academically last year because of online learning and lockdowns. Is it still worth me applying to Shad?
Yes! The pandemic has impacted many students across the country in terms of academics and the absence of extra-curricular activities. The Shad application is structured to highlight an individual’s strengths across a variety of domains.
I’m concerned about attending Shad in-person. Will any online programs run this year?
No, Shad Canada will only be offering an in-person program in 2022.
Will I be regionally constrained regarding which Shad program I can attend?
Shad Canada is planning for participants to attend campuses across the country. In the event that federal or provincial COVID-19 health guidelines suggest otherwise next spring when assignments are made, regional accommodations may have to be considered.
Has Shad updated its refund policy for this year to address Covid concerns?
If Shad Canada is required to cancel an in-person program, a refund will be made to program participants.
Will there be any social distancing requirements during the program? Will I require a negative test before the start of the program? Will Covid tests be performed during the program?
We know there are a lot of questions when it comes to delivering an in-person program during a pandemic. Shad Canada is committed to the health and wellbeing of all our participants and campus team members. We will continue to monitor and follow all public health guidelines and will communicate updates to participants and parents as the program draws nearer. Participants and campus team members will be required to adhere to all Shad Canada and campus health and safety protocols at time of program delivery.
Please email firstname.lastname@example.org for any questions that are not addressed. We appreciate your patience as we continue to monitor and follow all public health guidelines.
